Greetings,
A Happy New Year to all of you!
I wanted to take this opportunity to say goodbye to all of you at the Social Justice Fund. As many of you know, I will be leaving the Social Justice Fund on January 31st, after seven exhilarating years as the executive director. These years have been an incredibly valuable experience for me in leadership—I have so appreciated being a part of this chapter of Social Justice Fund’s life. Thank you all for giving me the opportunity and supporting me every step of the way.
I am thrilled to be turning over the leadership of Social Justice Fund to our new executive director, John-Paul Chaisson-Cárdenas. John-Paul brings a lifetime of experience as a social change organizer and educator. You can learn more about him at our website.
I believe in the commitment of the board, staff and members of the Social Justice Fund to continue to move forward with our mission to improve our community by promoting justice and equality. By pooling donations from over 600 individuals coming from a cross-section of classes and races in our communities in the Northwest, we can support groups in the Northwest that are attacking the roots of social injustice.
I want to thank you all again for these amazing seven years. My new contact information as of February 1st is bookda -at- comcast -dot- net. I hope you will stay in touch.
And best wishes to all of you in 2008.
Bookda Gheisar
