Civic Action Giving Project

Civic Action Giving Project in 2012 - continuing our commitment.

The 2011 Civic Action Giving Project, a partnership with the Win/Win Network, was a group of eleven individuals who met May-October to build community, explore issues of race and racism in the context of civic engagement, learn about current challenges and fund strategies that go beyond voter registration to changing the rules of engagement. This project raised $121,355 and awarded five multi-year grants to civic engagement organizations that increases the political representation of people of color in Washington State through structural change. In 2012, we will continue fundraising to renew those grants, enabling our grantees to focus their resources on strategic organizing in this critical election year.
