SJF Welcomes Uma Rao as Membership & Grants Manager

Dear Members & Supporters,
I am thrilled to join the Social Justice Fund team as the Membership and Grants Manager!

I have been an active part of the anti-violence and feminist movements for 12 years, and currently serve as the board chair of the King County Coalition Against Domestic Violence. My activist roles have included organizing communities, serving on boards, training, and raising funds. My interests in building stronger movements are in grassroots philanthropy, community-based research & strategies, and leadership development.

I came to Social Justice Fund as a grantee and member in 2005, and have since served on and chaired the Cultural Grants and Basic Grants committees, as well as the Grants Oversight Committee. Through my experience as a member, I have truly benefitted from participating in the cross-race, cross-class dialogues and activities. I invite you all to become more active: share your analysis and ideas, learn from your peers and explore strategic philanthropy with the Social Justice Fund.
