The Social Justice Fund has achieved measurable success in democratizing philanthropy by significantly growing our membership in communities of color over the past five years. Engaging our members has never been more important and we encourage and appreciate membership participation. We are dedicated to creating opportunities for our members and communities to talk, learn from each other and build our communities.
We invite our current members who identify as people of color to join us on October 16th for a People Of Color Caucus. The Caucus will be held at the 2100 Building (2100 24th Avenue South, Seattle, 98144).
The purpose of the caucus is to:
The People of Color Caucus is directly tied to the work of the Expanding Philanthropy Project. Two of the primary goals of the Expanding Philanthropy Project are to:
We are certain that this conversation with our members of color will lead to meaningful and satisfying ways to cultivate our relationships. We will share what we learn and have subsequent conversations that include all Social Justice Fund members.
Please join us Monday, October 16 from 4pm until 7pm with a lovely dinner at Bookda’s home following. We ask that you please bring two friends to the dinner. We plan to continue our conversation over dinner and hope new friends will be inspired to learn more about Social Justice Fund and its role in the progressive movement. This is not a fundraising event, and dinner is free.
We look forward to seeing you there!
